Extensions

An extension to your home can be a cost effective alternative to creating more space without having to relocate and move, saving some of the cost and hassle that comes with moving (such as stamp duty and removal services).

It also allows you to extend your space without having to uproot family life and change location, which can be particularly important if you are part of a community that you love, with children in local schools.

Extensions continue to be a popular choice, particularly for rooms such as kitchens, which have become a more exciting and versatile space in recent  years, often accommodating both social and culinary aspects of family life.

If you're considering a ground-floor extension to your house, it might also be prudent to consider a two story extension to offer more space for your first floor living space. This can often incorporate an en-suite, which can be a useful addition for family life.

Some extensions are permissible under 'permitted development rights' without the need for planning permission, so it's always worth exploring when considering this option.

If you have enough space, it's definitely worth considering an extension.
